In the archives there was a music video from a show called 'The Aunty Jack Show'. The video was of a song called 'Farewell Aunty Jack'. I believe that this video, and the show itself, is very Australian due to the style of the show and the topics addressed. The show was a comedy series that ran from 1972 - 1973, and was about an obese transvestite who solved problems by beating them up or threatening to rip their arms off. She wears a blue dress, football socks and a golden boxing glove on one hand. This kind of crude humour, although inspired by the British, has it's own Australian edge to it, and was actually banned in America for being too vulgar. The video of the song 'Farewell Aunty Jack' is shot in a typical Australian barren landscape near the ocean, and shows her riding the motorcycle she often rode. The song was number 1 in the Australian charts for 22 weeks.
